Professor Sonia Gandhi is a British physician and neuroscientist at the Francis Crick Institute, where she leads the neurodegeneration laboratory. She also holds a joint position at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology. Her research is focused on investigating the molecular mechanisms that lead to Parkinson’s disease. As a Senior Group Leader and Assistant Research Director, she and her team use patient-derived human stem cells as a model to explore the causes of Parkinson’s disease, aiming to translate their findings into improved diagnostics, biomarkers, and novel targets for therapies.
